Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on Data Science Manager to lead and contribute directly to our small but highly impactful Data Science team. You’ll be responsible for driving technical execution across data infrastructure, data modeling, BI, ML, and data operations while also managing a growing team and being the go-to expert for cross-functional data needs.

This is a role, ideal for someone who loves building data products, shaping architecture, and mentoring talent - without stepping away from the code.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our end-to-end data platform:

    1. Data Warehouse (Snowflake)

    2. Data ingestion from PostgreSQL, MySQL, APIs, SFTP, BigQuery, etc.

    3. Orchestration tools like Jenkins, Mage, and N8N

    4. Data modeling using dbt (Dimensional & OBT)

    5. ML model development and monitoring (e.g., scoring, behavioral models)

    6. Feature engineering and deployment

  • Own and manage our BI layer using Tableau

  • Lead DataOps workflows including both automated and manual data deliveries for:

    1. Regulatory reporting

    2. Merchant settlements

    3. Financial closing and reconciliation

  • Champion best practices in data governance, documentation, and testing

  • Drive strategic initiatives around platform scalability and data architecture

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Product, IT, and external vendors

  • Manage and mentor a growing data science & engineering team

  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and talent development within the team

Job requirements

Must-Have Experience

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in data engineering, ML, or analytics, with at least 1–2 years in a tech lead or team lead role

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of:

    1. Cloud data warehouses (preferably Snowflake)

    2. Data ingestion tools (e.g., Airbyte, Fivetran)

    3. Orchestration frameworks (e.g., Mage, N8N, Airflow)

    4. dbt and modern data modeling

    5. ML lifecycle (training, serving, monitoring)

    6. SQL and Python

  • Experience administering or supporting BI tools (Tableau preferred)

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross functional teams

  • Comfortable navigating regulatory and compliance-related data requirements

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., fintech, banking)

  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting and financial data (PnL, credit, provisioning)

  • Experience deploying and monitoring ML models in production
